Il Barclays Center di Brooklyn è stato il teatro dove è andata in scena la ventinovesima edizione di Summerslam, il pay per view WWE più caldo dell’estate.
L’evento è stato ricco di adrenalina e colpi scena: innanzitutto ha consegnato alla storia il primo WWE Universal Champion, istituito per Raw dopo la scissione con Smackdown. Il titolo è finito nelle mani di Finn Balor, che ha incredibilmente sconfitto Seth Rollins e si appresta a diventare uno dei protagonisti assoluti della WWE.
Rimane invece saldamente nelle mani di Dean Ambrose il WWE World Championship, che vince il suo match con Dolph Ziggler.
Grandi emozioni anche durante il Main Event della serata: Brock Lesnar contro Randy Orton. Inizialmente ad avere la meglio è The Viper, ma alla fine The Beast vince per Ko tecnico.
Molto interessanti infine l’incontro tra le Superstar WWE AJ Styles e John Cena, vinto da The Phenomenal One, e quello per il WWE Women’s Championship, in cui Charlotte si riprende il titolo dopo aver sconfitto The Boss Sasha Banks.
